Why You Can't Stay Silent!

"For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the Gentiles, saith Jehovah of hosts." Malachi 1:11.

Yesterday afternoon, as I observed people going about their business in Tamale township, a scriptural text came to me and I couldn't but wonder what we would answer on the Last Day. It is taken for granted by many in the Church that Tamale and the entire Northern sectors of Ghana is for the Muslims but I know God thinks differently.

Everything and everyone, citizens of Tamale included, was made by God for his glory (Colossians 1:16) and all things exist because he wants them to (Colossians 1:17). Therefore, all are only by his grace and for his name sake. God didn't need to create anything and he definitely didn't need to redeem man from the fall but he did.

So why did God create?
Jonathan Edwards has given us given us the best answer we can make from this side in his sermon The Purpose For Which The World Was Created and I refer you to it but I'll ask you to imagine a Being who has always been, a Being who has never been lonely or needed company outside of Himself, a Being who has never had a need of anything outside of Himself and a Being who is so beautiful that there is nothing by which he can be compared when one wants to describe him. Don't forget He's also the only holy and good one. There is no one else like him and there is no one else so separated but still a part of this creation.

If he's all that why did he create such beings such us ourselves? Mankind and all other creation in it's original form is an overflow of the beauty, goodness and glory of God. God been so full of himself over flowed into us. Creation isn't a part of God, neither is it God, but rather an expression of who he is. When God had finished creating he saw and said "all I've done is good" because good is who and what God is.

Man as the principal expression of God's image fell through disobedience though God had gifted man with the most costly commodity in the entire universe, Himself. God's most precious gift to man wasn't the garden, not life and not even creation but Himself. There could not have been anything more important and filling than God. Yet man rejected this gift and bought into the lie of Satan.

Before creation had commenced God had 'determined' in his wisdom that a provision be made for man to be restored into fellowship (Revelation 13:8), and at the right time Christ was revealed (Galatians 4:4) that he may redeem us from sin. This message of Creation and Redemption is for all men and for that God gave his life. Do you see why you can't stay silent?

Everyday, millions of people around the world die without hearing the good news of Christ and his salvation and can you continue to be silent? Each day, thousands are born into or converted into a faith that damns the soul and corrupts the mind, right on your doorsteps, in your country, can you continue to stay silent?

"Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter! If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this,” doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?" Proverbs 24:11,12

Christ shall return to judge the world and all in it. Christ shall come again to demand from you your life work for his glory's sake. What would be your gift to him for so great a salvation he has given you? You were given the privilege of salvation that you may make that same gift of God available until others.

Surely, from the rising of the sun to it's setting the glory of God will be seen and all flesh shall bow before our mighty God for the gospel will be preached in every corner of the earth before the Savior and Master of all created order comes again.

You can't stay silent on the last day so you shouldn't stay silent now for it's demanded of you that as you have to answer for what you did with your life so you now have to give your life as a sacrifice for the glory of God to be known.

We should ask "does he not see my way and are my steps not numbered" (Job 31:4) and perhaps God will awaken our hearts to the plight and condemnation of our neighbors who do not know Christ.
You can't stay silent!
