THERE IS SUCH A THING AS TOO MUCH ANOINTING

There is much talk of "anointing" in our Churches. Seems to me that is all the Church care about today. No one talks of "conformity to Christ" or the "happiness of God". We have become a shadow of our self. The anointing used to be a means to an end but today its been made the God worthy of worship.

I know some will say I am always talking against the anointing because I don’t have any anointing, you may be right.
  • If by anointing you mean the ability to make people fall down and wiggle like worms, then I don’t have an anointing;
  • If by anointing you mean to have people say they are healed when they are not, then I don’t have an anointing;
  • If by anointing you mean praying till my ancestors know I have prayed, then I don’t have an anointing.

But if by anointing you mean the ability to deny myself in the quest for holiness, then I do have some anointing;
  • If by anointing you mean consistent prayers even when it seems not to work, then I have an anointing;
  • If by anointing you mean serving the Church faithfully over the long haul, then I have a small anointing.

It’s time we return to talking about conformity to Christ and the happiness of God. If your pastor happens to be over 50 years old ask him if the messages he is preaching now is what anointed men of God preached when he was young.

Those of us who call Christ Lord let us return to talking about being like Christ and see the true anointing as a means to becoming like Christ.
God bless you.
